Following on from the popularity of the XDP-100R and XDP-300R, Pioner have launched their latest XDP-30R player and we have them! Available in Silver or Black, this new Hi Res Digital Audio Player is the smallest yet! Don't let that fool you though, it has some serious credentials.

It has a 2,4 inch touchscreen, ESS SABRE DACs with separate channels, symmetrical audio output, Bluetooth, Google Play apps, WiFi and thumb optimized controls. Discreet and compact, you can listen to your own music from the internal memory or either of the 2 Micro SD card slots, making storage HUGE!

Whether you’re dipping a toe into Hi-Res Audio, or a veteran user, expect flawless playback of any format. The XDP-30R supports DSD 5.6 MHz decoding; plays FLAC, WAV, ALAC, and AIFF at up to 192 kHz/32-bit; and is compatible with MQA following a future firmware update. Selectable Hi-bit Upsampling converts lower-resolution files to 192 kHz/32-bit for a near-native Hi-Res Audio experience. Lossless audio is expressed fluently, and the player is sympathetic to compressed audio. Add TIDAL and TuneIn (other services to follow), and your musical horizons expand even further.

All you need is your music library and a pair of headphones and you have ahigh quality, easily portable system for a daily commute, holiday or late night listening. Watch out for the 5 star review!

In similar fashion to the XDP-300R vs. DP-X1, Onkyo have a new compact player called the DP-S1 that is built around the same platform as the Pioneer. Identical to the Pioneer in operation and size, but with a slightly different DAC onboard, we have both players available to audition.

At the other end of the scale, the latest Astell and Kern Kann has hit the streets and what a beast it is! At £899.00, the A&K Kann is tipped to be one of their best sounding Digital Audio Players ever. Yes, it is a little bigger than most, but when it out-performs the AK320 with matching AK Amp, you can forgive it slightly larger profile.

KANN is capable of bit-to-bit playback up to 32bit 384kHz and native DSD playback up to 11.2MHz, delivering detailed, distortion-free sound just as the artist intended. As well as standard and balanced outputs, the Kann has USB and USB-C connections, Wifi, Bluetooth HD, Internal memory, Micro SD and SD card slots and the kitchen sink!

The "One player to rule them all" tag line seems to fit!!
